Hey everyone – I’m going to be taking a sabbatical for a few weeks. I’ve got a couple of different reasons for this, some of which you will hopefully get to see at the end of this break. One of those reasons is that I’m working on making some material for a comic strip contest that is going on with Universal Press Syndicate and Amazon.com. You can check out this contest here: Comic Strip Superstar Contest.
But do not worry! I will not leave you without any content for that time! I’m going to be posting one of two things – either old comics that I haven’t published here, or old artwork from sketchbooks and such. So keep coming back to the site during this time to enjoy some of that fun stuff!
I plan to come back to the normal scheduled updates on Sept. 14th. So … I’ll see you in a few weeks!

I, as most people, like watching sports. But few sporting events interest me as much as the Tour de France. I’m not really sure what it is about it, but I just love watching it. Maybe it’s getting to see the country side of Europe, or maybe it’s just the slow and steady pace of the whole thing. I did take about 8 years of French through high school and college, so that probably has something to do with it. Regardless, my enjoyment of it is unlike my enjoyment of other sports. In baseball and football, you jump up and do fist pumps and stuff like that. But even when I have a favorite in the Tour, I still don’t do that. It’s just a peaceful, relaxing sport to watch. (Although, if you watch some of the fans on the sides of the roads there, they get pretty excited.)
It’s interesting though how watching it really makes me want to get a road bike and become a cyclist. Perhaps I should. I could use the exercise.
Anyway, I’m not really sure where I’m going with this but I figured I’d encourage everyone to watch it if you can. It’s a great sport and a great opportunity to see a little bit of the culture in Europe.

Hello wonderful readers! I was thinking about this recently, and I wanted to share some thoughts on the subject of clicking ads here on the website. I’d like to briefly run through some great reasons for you to click the ads here, in no particular order.
1: The Golden Rule
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Imagine that I pay $5 for a day of advertising on someone else’s website and get 10 clicks on my ad. That’s 50 cents per click. That’s not a good ROI (Return On Investment) and I probably won’t advertise there again. Likewise, if people advertise here and don’t get a good ROI, they’re likely not to advertise here again. So when you click on ads here, you help bring back advertisers, which helps out Seth and Buddy.
2: Great New Stuff
If you don’t click on the ads, you never know what you might miss. Let me give you an example. When I was a kid, I used to play this game with my brother called “The Secret of Monkey Island.” It was an awesome game. Recently, someone advertised on this website for a new version of that game that I’m really excited about. But if I had ignored the ads that go here, I would’ve missed it. Likewise I’ve seen some great websites and comics on other sites, but I would not have known about them had I ignored the ads. So do yourself a favor – click on the ads!
3: It’s Free and Easy Support
Can’t donate to the cause of Seth and Buddy financially? No problem! Clicking on ads is a great way to help support the comic. As I said before, when you click on ads, it helps bring advertisers in, which helps bring in money. It really is the cheapest and easiest way to help the cause.
Of course, I’m not asking people to go on a clicking spree. People clicking on ads repeatedly is not only unhelpful, but it’s kind of unethical. But it is great for you guys to pay attention to the ads and enjoy a click every so often. So go on – enjoy those clicks guys, and look forward to some awesome new comics and who knows what else!

I recently decided to change the way the forums work here … it’s unfortunate, but I get tons of spammers who attack the forums and there’s just no easy way to deal with it right now. Also, few people use the forums anyway, so it’s not worth the time to have to keep deleting all that mess. So, the forums will now be hosted by Webcomics Inc. It may take a bit for the group to get approved, but once it does, you can make comments over there if you like. Hope to hear from you!

If you notice now, beneath the comic on the front page, you will see a button that says “Top Web Comics VOTE.” Well, it’s there for a reason! I want you guys to vote – and do it often. You can vote once a day, which would be much appreciated. Top Webcomics is a list that tells people what some of the best webcomics out there are, and the higher Seth and Buddy is on that list, the more visitors read the comic. The more people read the comic, the better it does, and the better it does, the more likely I am to update more often! It’s the snowball effect, but in a good way! So go on! Vote your brains out!
By the way, thanks to Evan of Musings Comic for the great button and help getting it coded properly. Go check his comic out! And vote for it too!
